UNAIR NEWS Inspired by her profession, Esti Yunitasari was motivated to study female health especially cervical cancer for her dissertation. Her dissertation made her become the best graduate of doctoral program of Faculty of Public Health (FKM), 51动漫. She achieved GPA 3.96.
The lecturer of Faculty of Nursing (FKp) UNAIR who teaches Maternity Nursing, studied 淢odel Development of Coping Nursing Care Based on Roy Adaptation in Improving Cervical Cancer Patients Resilience Post Hysterectomy Radical with Chemotherapy.
淎s a nurse I feel empathic to women who get cervical cancer. So I tried to improve resilience on the condition. I hope that the women檚 biologic function work well even they become cancer survivors, she explained.
Cervical cancer has been the biggest cause of women檚 death. Esti has succeeded in improving resilience by developing Roy Adaptation model. This success in improving cancer patients resilience can be used to decrease mortality rate and morbidity rate of women with cervical cancer.
Esti has many roles, mother, wife, lecturer, nurse, and activist of maternity nursing community of East Java. Despite these many roles, she has done well for her academic performance. Even though there were many obstacles, she remained optimistic. She believes that every problem can be solved by prayers and efforts.
淒uring my doctoral study, there were problems. But I always try to solve the problems. As after hardships, there is success. So keep trying and praying. Achievements are not only in academic performace but there are other achievements, she added.
Unhealthy Instant Food
MEANWHILE, Dessy Wulan Sari was interested in work engagementas one important aspect to a company or organization success. Her thesis titled 淐orrelation of Perception in Leader Member Exchange (LMX) and Work Engagement of Non-Managerial Employees in Rumah Sakit Bedah Surabaya made her become the best graduate of bachelor program of Faculty of Psychology 51动漫 with GPA 3.68.
In her research, the women born in Surabaya in 1993 explained that leadership issues often causes employees complaints. There was 43% of employee respondents dissatisfied with the boss. Therefore she studied correlation of perception in leader member exchange (LMX) and work engagement of non-managerial employees in Rumah Sakit Bedah Surabaya.
淢y parents keep encouraging me to finish my study, said the member of UNAIR choir. She admitted that it was not an easy task to study workengagementin a company/institution as it was related to important data such as turnover, employees performance review, customer feedback, and some other data. But in the end, the hospital supported.
During her thesis presentation, Dessy had obstacles and few time she had problems, such as loosing her qualitative data she had analyzed before.
淚 was grateful for all the obstacles, it檚 all paid off with the results. Tiring, but two semesters for research were quite a process, she said.
Dessy encouraged other students to enjoy their process whatever they do. 淚nstant food is not always healthy. So go through the process. 滿aking a mistake is a proof that we have tried. It is normal to make mistakes. But do not always do the same mistakes. It means we do not learn from our mistakes, she said. (*)
