UNAIR NEWS – After achieving the second place in as faculty with the most international Scopus publications in 2017, the Faculty of Medicine in 2018 has targeted 170 international scopus indexed journals and proceedings.Overall, FK performance this year has risen significantly, including the budget reaching Rp 121 billion.
“I admit our target this year is quite high.But we are optimistic, as in past years, we achieved 80% of our target.As the oldest faculty we are optimistic to support UNAIR to achieve the target of the government for Top 500World Class University(WCU), ” said Dean of FK UNAIR Prof.Dr.H. Soetojo, dr., SpU (K) toUNAIR NEWS.
On the publication achievement, the Professor of Urology Science FK UNAIR added that if thebaselineof 2017 were only 69 articles, their target will increase significantly. The articles contained in the scopus indexed proceedings is also expected to reach 600 articles.
“In FK, the activity level is high,InshaAllahtarget of 600 articles will be achieved,” said Prof.Soetojo.
As in previous years, the faculty will always encourages the publication of FK researchers in Scopus-indexed journals.Nevertheless, in the 2018 performance target, non Scopus indexed publications is also considered.The target of non-Scopus journal is 63 articles while the publication of articles on non-scopus proceedings is not targeted.
The publication of articles on accredited national journals is targeted 120 articles.Then the publication of books, textbooks, modules, teaching materials with ISBN, is expected to reach reach 30 titles.
“While the indexed Scopus journal faculty is both for Medicine and Midwifery.Insha Allahit will be achieved, “said Prof.Soetojo.
Scientific activities bothinternationalseminars andworkshopswill also be improved. Ten international activities have been arranged will be implemented by 29 departments in FK UNAIR.Because the target is fewer than the number of departments, the programs will be selected competitively, so the best programs will besupportedto become international event.
Outboundandinboundprogramsin FK are also targeted quite high.Part time outbound was increased from 121 last year to 150 students.It is the number of UNAIR FK students who will conduct scientific activities (competitions, seminars, courses, etc.) abroad in less than three months, or equivalent with 12 credits.
Whilefull-time outboundwas increased from 10 to 15 students.Thenpart time inbound –foreign students who participate in scientific activities at UNAIR less than three months or equivalent with 12 SKS – is also expected to increase from 26 to 50 students.
Prof.Soetojo also confirmed thatthere have been 20 visiting professorat FK UNAIR.Among them are in the Department of Urology andObstetrics and Gynecology(Obgin) twice each and once implemented by Dept. Medical Rehab, Cardiology, Neurosurgery.
“This year I am sure no less than 20 visits as well, becausevisiting professoris potential for improved publicity,” said Prof.Soetojo.
In 2018 FK UNAIR also hopes to propose 13 lecturers of Faculty of Medicine UNAIR to get professorship.It will increase the number of active Professors teaching at FK UNAIR to 70 people.(*)
