Faculty of Psychology holds training for teachers in Jember to prevent bullying

UNAIR NEWS– Bullying behaviorshould not be taken lightly.However, there is a fact that not everyone understands how to handlebullyingcases, especially among children.

For this reason, Faculty of Psychology (FPSi) 51动漫 initiated a webinar entitledSteps to RespectTraining.The topic was Kindergarten Teacher Competence Development Program to Prevent Student Bullying Behavior.

The event was held virtually through Zoom, on Friday and Saturday, September 25-26, 2020. Twenty-six participants from Indonesian Kindergarten Teacher Association (IGTKI), Sumbersari Sub-district, Jember attended the event.

Rhajiv Nur Ilham as Head of the committee said that the problem ofbullyingmust be handled as early as possible.He continued, the right approach was needed.

“Bullyingamong students is now increasingly prevalent.If it is not addressed, it will cause various other problems in the future, both physical and psychological problems.This training is an effort to prevent and handle bullying cases that occur among students, “he explained.

The activity, said Rhajiv, was targeted kindergarten teachers.According to him, kindergarten teachers are an important element in supporting the process of student growth and development, including in solvingbullyingproblems.

“As guardians of students in schools, kindergarten teachers are required to have knowledge and skills in the process of solving problems that occur among their students,” said Rhajiv.

Rhajiv said that there were two presentation delivered in two days, Understanding Bullying as a Prevention Effortby Yustisiana Hidayati, M.Psi., Psychologist and Bullying Victims and Perpetrators Rehabilitation based on Anti-Bullying Program Steps to Respectby Zakiyah Ulya, M.Psi., Psychologist.

Previously, participants were required to take a pre-test. After the presentations, in order to determine the participants’ improved knowledge and skills, the committee held a post test. The participants then received the certificate of completion.

The event managed by FPSi UNAIR Educational and Developmental Psychology lecturer Herdina Indrijati, M.Psi., Psychologist received a positive response from the participants.Loeloek Erryka, S.Pd, Head of IGTKI revealed that the participants were very grateful.These activities improved their knowledge on how to follow upbullyingcasesamong kindergarten students.

“The training participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the training and showed great interest for more training with other topics that are no less important,” concluded Rhajiv. (*)
