UNAIR NEWS –Various activities have been conducted to commemorate the 54th Anniversary of Faculty of Pharmacy 51动漫.This time, the Faculty of Pharmacy UNAIR held a Workshop and Training themed “Pharmacotherapy Update-3: Off Label Drugs in Community and Clinical Setting”.The event taking place at the IPTEKDOK Grabik-Faculty of Medicine building of UNAIR Campus A was the 3rd event ofPharmacotherapy Update.
“Previously, it was held in 2007 and 2010 to discuss off label drugs,” said Suharjono as chairman of the committee as interviewed by UNAIR News.
Although it has been going on for the third time, according to Suharjono the implementation ofPharmacotherapy Update-3 was very different from previous activities because, this time, it was done for two days, Saturday and Sunday 14-15 October 2017 and discussed more topics.
“This workshop and training was attended by 380 participants from practitioners of hospital, pharmacies, clinics, community health centers, pharmacy schools, and pharmacy students,” he explained.“The participants come from various provinces in Indonesia such as Papua, Maluku, Kalimantan, Sumatra, Java, and Bali,” he added.
Dr.Umi Athiyah, MS, Apt., as the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UNAIR explained that theupdateof knowledge andtechnologyto face the challenges in the future is really necessary.For her, this is an attempt to avoidmiscommunicationthat can make frictions of pharmacists and clinicians.
”Offlabeldrug informationhas not been widely known and understood by health workers, both doctors and pharmacists, becauseoff labeldrug prescriptionwill also have an impact on ethical rules and drug costs,” said Umi.
