UNAIR NEWS – Supported by her thesis on “The Formation of Shell Companies by Foreign Investors in Indonesia”, Iyen Suhesti, mother of three children successfully graduated as the best graduate of Master Program Faculty of Law with 3.79 GPA.
Shell companies are companies that are established for a particular purpose(Special Purpose Vehicle), especially to accommodate funds / money and / or intermediary companies for certain transactions.The company is often established in a country that levies low taxes and enables theBeneficiary Owner.
According to Iyen, Indonesia actually has had enough legislation to prevent the formation of subsidiaries in the form of shell companies.Legislation in the field of limited liability companies (PT), capital markets, banking, taxation, money laundering, and capital investment have provided a mechanism for each PMA establishment through the establishment of the PT through registration, and recording of shareholder names.
Similarly, banking transactions require to mention of the fund owner檚 identity.Tax laws even prohibitbeneficiary ownersfrom obtaining tax exemption facilities.In general, the Indonesian regulation implements two strategies to limit thebeneficiary owner, through anup-front disclosure system;and obligations tocorporate service provide听.
She is also active as a Notary and PPAT in Surabaya, and as secretary of Indonesian Notary Association (INI) Pengda Surabaya in IT and Communications division.In PPAT Association Pengda Surabaya, she acts as the Head division.Iyen also became the class coordinator in SMPN 1 Surabaya and SMAN 5 Surabaya.
“Graduated from FH UNAIR bachelor檚 degree in 3.5 years, then continued as Notary Specialist also at UNAIR,” said Iyen about her study and profession.At that time the PPAT exam was not every year, so even though she was pregnant for seven months, she still registered for PPAT exam in “Gudeg” City Yogyakarta.
“I am very grateful for the understanding and support from my husband, father-in-law, and my three children who can be independent wshen I live college and work,” she added.
Asked for the tips of success, Iyen suggested to choose the majors in accordance with the interests and abilities, so the knowledge gained during college can develop the potential of science and support the practice in the world of work.(*)
