UNAIR NEWS Zahrin Haznina Qalby檚 dream to study in one of the best universities in the world is almost fulfilled. She has received an official letter from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It was about a letter of acceptance for her to study there. The course is starting this August. The girl born in Jombang 20 years ago keeps making preparations.
淚 thank all parties supporting me. From parents to my university. Hopefully, I will not disappoint them all, said the woman born on January 26.
She explained, during her study at FEB on Financial Management, the lecturers were so attentive. They also provided guidance when she applied for the scholarship.
淚 am going with LPDP scholarship (Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education), said the young girl who finished her bachelor program for three and a half years.
Zahrin was graduated in March 2015. She applied for LPDP scholarship in September 2015 and approved in December. Since January 2016, she has sent many admission requests to international universities. Some of them were Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She finally accepted by University of Illinois which has excellent curriculum and it was what she wants.
The graduates of that university are great people. Such as Sri Mulyani, the woman who used to be the Minister of Finance. She was also named as the World Bank Director. LPDP scholarship was also started when Sri Mulyani assumed office in the ministry.
When she was asked about her hopes for her juniors at FEB, Zahrin said that all youngsters should never stop dreaming. Most importantly, focus on their dreams. 淔ight for it. Live your dream. And then, make Indonesia and your alma mater, family and ourself proud, she said. (*)
