FK UNAIR holds GEBRAK to Overcome COVID-19

UNAIR NEWS Faculty of Medicine (FK) 51动漫 held a 淛oint Simultaneous Action Movement (GEBRAK) to overcome Covid-19 on Friday, July 30, 2021.听On this occasion, FK UNAIR gave recommendations of FK UNAIR professors to accelerate Covid-19 handling.

Dr. dr. Hendy Hendarto, SpOG (K), as the head of the formulation team for GEBRAK to overcome Covid-19, explained the recommendations from 56 FK UNAIR professors, both on duty and inactive. He explained the problem of the Covid-19 pandemic is very complex. So, it is necessary to solve the problem from all fronts.

淭his program will focus on problem-solving in the community andhospitals.听Recommendations for solving problems upstream are the priority, which will then be followed up by downstream handling.听It is expected to accelerate the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, he said.

dr. Hendy explained that the recommendations were divided into two, general and specific recommendations. In the general recommendations, four important points that need to be implemented by Indonesia: unifying the perception of all nation components, contribution from all nation components, activities in synergy with the Covid-19 Task Force, as well as strengthening the use of information and communication technology, and involving academics in maintaining data validity.

Furthermore, he explained the specific recommendations, which are divided into upstream and downstream. Upstream recommendations deal with problems in the community as the group most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

淚n the upstream, we make recommendations based on priorities.听First, strengthening self-isolation assistance by optimizingtelemedicineaccording to the guidelines of the Covid-19 task force.听Then, strengthening the Covid-19 task force at the local RT/RW level by involving related parties and universities to educate and disseminate the 6M 3T process continuously.听Lastly, open ahotlinefor people in need, he explained.

On the other hand, in the downstream, the problem lies in health care facilities. Two recommendations were suggested by the formulation team to solve the problem, overcoming the shortage of facilities and human resources and overcoming the surge in patients.

He continued, universities, in this case, FK, could use general practitioners,internshipdoctors, doctors who graduated from UKMPD, and other medical personnel to become Covid-19 volunteers.听Universities are also encouraged to make a list of convalescent plasma donors in the community and fulfill the need for personal protective equipment (PPE), especially N-95.

淗ospitals can improve the ICU, including the provision of ECMO and ventilators, add bed facilities and support adequate medical devices. Furthermore, each regency/city needs to be equipped with PCR laboratory equipment. If possible, the provinces can add new variant detectors, he explained.

GEBRAK movement to overcome Covid-19 is dynamic and focused, and it can change according to conditions that occur, he added.
