UNAIR NEWS –(UNAIR) has confirmed itself as one of Indonesias best universities.This time, its reputation was strengthened by the release of Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings(QS WUR) 2021 by Subject: Medicine.Faculty of Medicine (FK) UNAIR is in the top three positions in Indonesia, with global rank #551-600.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) UNAIR Prof.Dr.dr.Budi Santoso, Sp.OG (K) said there were four assessment indicators.These areEmployer reputation, Academic reputation, Research citations per paper,H-indexor productivity benchmarks and the impact of publications published by lecturers and/or researchers.
Assessment related toemployer reputationcan be seen from the relevance of education to the world of work, he said.
The first indicator is also related to UNAIR graduates with acknowledged contributions in various organizations.Thus, continued Prof.Budi, the assessment is based onusers of UNAIR graduates.
Furthermore, the second indicator is the quality of education oracademic reputation.This assessment is important as evidence that various parties worldwide have acknowledged the quality of UNAIR education.
Meanwhile, the citation and h-index values are measured based on publications indexed in the Scopus database, he explained.
FK UNAIR efforts for QS WUR by Subject: Medicine Rankings
The Dean of FK UNAIR explained that the facultys efforts to achieve this ranking were not easy. There are various strategic programs developed that cover five important things.
The five things areGood education,Entrepreneurship,System of information,InternationalizationandDigitalization, explained Prof.Budi.
According to Prof.Budi, there are some advantages owned by FK UNAIR in this ranking.Its student body has reached four thousand, with around four hundred active lecturers.
Furthermore, we also have numerous departments reaching 28 departments, with 41 programs, he explained.
FK UNAIR is currently promoting various collaborations, regional, national, and even international. Moreover, it has also started to develop an entrepreneurship curriculum.
We have recorded 40 domestic partnerships and 20 international partnerships. Currently, we have 14 Adjunct Professors and several international staff, he added.
FK UNAIR also holds international activities regularly amid pandemic, such as expert lecture classes, joint webinars(AWCS) andadjunct professorprogramsfrom each department.

Prof.Budi and FK UNAIR academicians have prepared a 2020-2025 mid-term development strategy manifested in thePRIMEFacultyof Medicinemotto.PRIME is Professional and student-centered curriculum,Responsive and accessible management system and a public problem,Innovation based on education and research,Modern Learning Ecosystem, andEntrepreneurship building program.
