UNAIR NEWS – The increasing prevalence ofDiabetesMellitus(DM) makes the burden on the state for maintenance of the disease related to “lifestyle” is getting bigger.Low public awareness on the importance of early blood sugar check will also make new diabetes detected only when complications have occurred.
To facilitate and awaken the awareness of the community, Faculty of Medicine (FK) students of 51动漫, through Entrepreneurship Creativity Program (PKMK) was a reason for proposing the concept of “Drive Thru Blood Sugar Check“.
Anggi Dewi, Team Leader of this PKMK FK UNAIR explained that her team was inspired by the concept ofdrive thrupracticed by fast food restaurants.
“Surely people are more interested to check blood sugar if you do not need long queues, the cost is cheap, available during driving.No need to get off vehicles.So there will be more people aware to check blood sugar as early as possible, and more people will be avoided from diabetes.Because diabetes, can only be prevented as there is no cure for it, “said Anggi Dewi told the press.
