UNAIR NEWS – Muhammad Tohawi EP, drh., M.Si., one of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine檚 lecturers of 51动漫, was chosen to represent Indonesia in “Sakura Science Plan Project 2017” program in Japan last Sunday, August 27.
This program is an annual event sponsored by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).JST holds an event of a conference between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Asia.This year Azabu University of Japan hosted the event titled “Sakura Science Plan Project 2017”.Topics discussed this year on how to diagnose infectious and epidemiological diseases in Asia.
This activity is followed by countries in Asia region.These include South Korea, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mongolia, Malaysia, Brazil and the host Japan.

Interviewed by unair newsin campus, UNAIR Banyuwangi, Muhammad Tohawi explained, Sakura program is a mean of insight exchange on how each country has method and technology to diagnose disease and prevent the occurrence of epidemics related to animal health.This program was held for ten days from 20 to 29 August 2017.
“At the event, I understand more about animal health, and we were also invited to visit some veterinary learning sites, learning anatomy directly in the Museum of Life, Veterinary Faculty Azabu University.We also visited Dr.Sugiura Museum of The First Schistosoma Japonicum and many other activities, “said M Tohawi, who is also in student coaching team (TPK).
He promised that any information and technology acquired during Sakura’s activities would be transferred to students at 51动漫, especially FKH students, so that every development and diagnosis of animal diseases can produce more accurate data.
“Especially for students in Indonesia who have the potential to be able to perform similar diagnostic methods,” he added.(*)
