FKM Student Gets Health Award from PT Astra

UNAIR NEWSÌý“ A student of Administration and Health Policy Master™s Program, Faculty of Public Health (FKM) of 51¶¯Âþ Ìý(UNAIR) gotÌýan awardÌýfrom PT Astra International Tbk. Ronaldus Asto Dadut was awardedÌýOne Indonesia AwardsÌýin 2017, on October 18, at Astra headquarters, Jakarta.

Asto received healthÌýaward forÌýhis achievement as the pioneer who develops a community in Sumba.ÌýThe community is called the Volunteer Network for Humanity Sumba or Kamunitas J-RUK Sumba.

PT Astra International Tbk awarded seven people.ÌýEach represented their field of education, environment, entrepreneurship, health, technology, and one group.

“I actually do not know the reason to be elected in health as our activities in J-RUK Sumba Community is not only the health sector, “said Asto.

The seven winners were selected from 3,432 participants from various regions in Indonesia.ÌýPrior to the award ceremony, Asto with 12 other finalists were invited to Jakarta for a presentation related to his activities in the J-ruk Sumba Community and his vision and missions for the community.

Establishing community

Asto, a man born in Waitabula, Southwest Sumba, March 20, 1992, initiated the J-RUK Community of Sumba in 2014.ÌýIn its journey, the community carried out many activities.

These activities included the preventive education on the dangers ofÌýhuman traffickingÌýand victim assistance, preventive education on Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS), helping children to get health services, literacy movements, and other social activities.

“I started this community with my friends because that year the problem of human trafficking in NTT was quite high, especially on the island of Sumba.ÌýSo, we tried to give education on the dangers of human trafficking, “said Asto.

Furthermore, Asto established the community because he wanted to have a place for young people to be part of a better change.

The selection this awards winnersÌýinvolved panelists from PT Astra International Tbk and Tempo Media Group also, five renowned panelists.ÌýThey are the Minister of Health of Indonesia Prof. Nila Moeloek, Lecturer of Environmental Science Postgraduate University of Indonesia Prof. Dr.ÌýEmil Salim, Postgraduate Professor of Jakarta State University Prof Fasli Jalal, Founder of Business and People Economics Institute, Tri Mumpuni, Information Technology Expert Onno W. Purbo, Commissioner of PT Tempo Inti Media Tbk Bambang Harymurti, Head of Public Division of PT Astra International Tbk Yulian Warman, and Riza Deliansyah from PT Astra International Tbk.Ìý(*)
