UNAIRNEWS Monetary problems would never stand between Yulia Wahyu Ningsih from Faculty of Economy and Business (FEB) 51动漫 and her achievement. 淭hank God I have been given an opportunity to study at university, something I never dreamt of when I was a kid, says Yulia. She graduated from bachelor degree (S1) majoring in Islamic Economy.
During her study, her parents in Nganjuk often complained about the school fee. Her mom is a house maid, while her father is only a shallot porter in a local traditional market.
Is that all? No. People mocked her by saying that she would never pass Juniors High. Yet, she succeeded in rupturing all those ill opinions and her monetary problems. She showed them she could finish her bachelor degree at UNAIR in less than 4 years with grade-point average of 3.85.
She admitted that monetary problems was part of her monthly menu. As one of bidikmisi students she had to be very 榗unning with her living cost money which she often received late. She racked her mind to find ways to address her monetary problems. She started teaching in a study preparation course, became a waitress in a nasi pecel boothas well as selling head covers for women.
During her study at UNAIR, Yulia檚 path wasn檛 always a red-carpeted one. The 5 July 1995 born girl found difficulties in subjects such as accounting, Arabic Language, Alqur檃n and hadith. She once felt she wouldn檛 be able to keep going and pass Islamic Economy program.
淭his is my choice and this is the best choice from Allah, so I have to be serious and responsible for it, said the graduate who once seized Business Case third winner in National Scientific Gathering.
When asked how she could stay put and even achieve so many, she answered that she held her determination firmly, Innamal a檓alu binniyat, each deed depends on its determination. For Yulia, making her parents proud is priority.
In the future, she plans to win a Magister scholarship from Education Fund Financier Board(Lembaga Penyandang Dana Pendidikan) and pursue her dream to become a lecturer. (*)
