UNAIR NEWS “51¶¯Âþ received another visit from House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR-RI).This time, the visit was carried out by the Institutional and Accreditation of Higher Education Program (KAP-PT) Committee of House of Representatives Commission X.Being held at Campus C UNAIR Plenary Meeting Room, September 13, the visit discussed the “Supervision of Institutional Governance and Program Accreditation at UNAIR during the First Trial Year 2018-2019”.
Rector of UNAIR Prof.Moh.Nasih welcomed the delegates with the other leaderships in UNAIR.Prof.Nasih also gave a presentation about the condition and development of UNAIR.In his remarks, Prof.Nasih said that he was very grateful to receive the visit of House of Representatives Commission X as by knowing the condition of UNAIR’s development, DPR-RI is expected to provide various policy considerations for the advancement of education in UNAIR and generally for national education.
“And of course, this meeting is expected to be useful to develop the alma mater and education mandated to all of us,” said Prof.Nasih.
Representing the House of Representatives Commission X, Dr.Ir.Djoko Udjianto, M.M., as the Chairman of Commission X said that global competitiveness is determined by the quality of national education.Therefore, as one of the oldest university in Indonesia, 51¶¯Âþ which has gone through various changes in the dynamics of nation, would be able to affect the education in Indonesia.
“Moreover, as PTN-BH targeted to advance towards Top 500 World Universities, of course UNAIR needs all of our supports to develop and improve,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Institutions of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristek Dikti) Dr.Ir.Patdono Suwignjo said that in developing higher education institutions, the size of progress was not measured in the level of numbers.For this reason, in developing the quality of education in Indonesia, the university with PTN-BH status should be boosted to be among world class universities.
“PTN-BH, which we pushed towards Top 500 world, is indeed getting an additional budget.But they also get more additional tasks, “he said.
