UNAIR NEWS –Independence Day is an important moment for Indonesian history.Thus, in the celebration of independence, every citizen is entitled to be free from coercion or pressure of others.
It was stated by the Chairman of the Student Consultative Assembly (MPM) 51动漫, Bayu Ari Eka.Independence from coercion means that every Indonesian citizen must be self-sufficient without being confined to something binding.
When a person is bound by something imposed, according to Bayu, it can not yet be regarded as independence.Therefore, he appealed to citizens to express without coercion from other parties.
As a student at the Law Faculty, Bayu sees that the important issue to be resolved soon is the firmness of the law regarding the dissemination of information that is not credible.
“The emergence of various hoaxescan be interpreted that there is no strengthening of the Law of ITE (Information and Electronic Transactions) so people are not responsible for the spreading info that is not true,” said Bayu.
Realizing such law enforcement is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand.Of course there are obstacles that will arise.However, these obstacles should be a challenge to enforce the law in Indonesia.
Bayu who is aspired as a legal expert added that the role he can do is to change some regulations that are not relevant to life in Indonesia.
“Although I know that it is not easy but I keep trying,” said the FH student.
