UNAIR NEWS International seminar held by Faculty of Nursing (FKp) 51 has attracted attention of domestic and foreign nurses. It was held for two day, Saturday and Sunday, April 8-9, 2017 in Kahuripan Hall Third floor, Management 51, Campus C, Jl. Dr. Ir. Soekarno, Mulyorejo, Surabaya.
The seminar opened by Vice Rector III UNAIR Prof. M. Amin Alamsyah, Ir., M.Si., Ph.D., was also attended by Prof. dr. Ali Ghufron Mukti, M.Sc., Ph.D., General Director of Science and Technology Resources Dikti, Dean of Faculty of Nursing (FKp) Prof. Dr. Nursalam, M.Ners (Hons). Prof. Ali Ghufron as the keynote speakerdelivered a speech titledThe Policy On Nurses and Health Worker Research-Based Development.
Dean of FKpProf. Nursalam in his address said that the seminar was held to improve the quality of nurses especially when Indonesia is often offered jobs as nurses. Therefore knowledge and nursing care should be improved.
Meanwhile, Elida Ulfiana, S.Kep., Ns., M-Kep., the Head of the Committee, said that it was held to celebrate the IX Anniversary of FKp UNAIR, and it was the 8th international seminar entitledEducation, Practice And Research Development In Nursing. There were at least 300 participants of the seminar, from the students (D3 S3/doctoral), nurses or even some participants from Malaysia and Taiwan.
According to Elida Ulfina, the topic was chosen because the nurses should not only improve the education but also the research and the practice. So the development should be holistic, how to educate the nurses and how to implement the education. How to update it is of course through development research, said Elida.
The topic of the seminar has attracted six foreign universities to collaborate. They were University College Cork (UCC) Ireland, Flinders University (Australia), La Trope University Australia, Universitas Malaya Malaysia, and Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) Taiwan. Besides, there were seven partners of FKp UNAIR in Indonesia, Politeknik Kesehatan (Poltekes) Kemenkes Surabaya, Poltekes Surakarta, Sekolah Tinggi Kesehatan (Stikes) Surya Mitra Husada Kediri, Stikes Pemkab Jombang, Stikes Yarsi Mataran, and Stikes Ngudia Husada Bangkalan.
There were eleven presentations on the first day, Dr. Chong Mei Chan (University of Malaya), Ya-Ping Yang, Ph.D (KMU Taiwan), Pauline Hill, RN, Dipp.App.Se(Nsg), BN(Ed), Med(St), Ph.D (Flinders University), Sonia Reisenhofer, RN, BN, Postgrad, Dip (Emergency Nursing), MCN (La Trope University), Prof. Eileen Savage BNS, M.Sc., Ph.D (UCC Ireland), and Dr. Joni haryanto, S.Kp., M.Si (FKp UNAIR).
There was also Prof. Dr. Nursalam, M.Ners (Hons) (UNAIR), Dr. Sestu Retno DA, S.Kep., M.Kes (Stikes Pemkab Jombang), Ferry Effendi, S.Kep., Ns., M.Sc., Ph.D (UNAIR), Dr. Siti Nur Kholifah, M.Kep., Sp.Kom (Poltekes Kemenkes surabaya), and Eva Agustina Yalestyorini, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes (Stikes Surya Mitra Husada Kediri).
On the second day, Sunday, April 9, there were six presentations, Bill Mc.Guiness, RN, Dip T, B Ed, MNS, Ph.D., FAWMA (La Trope University), Dr. Esty Yunitasari, S.Kep., M.Kes (UNAIR), Nunuk Dian Kurniawati, S.Kep, Ns, MANP (UNAIR), Dr. Kusnanto, S.Kep., M.Kes., Dr. Linda Sweet and Dr. Kristen Graham (Flinders University).
In the last session on second day, there was an oral presentation and poster presentation. The articles submitted for review reached 103 articles. It means that the enthusiasm was high and after that they will be published on atlantis press proceedings, and the selected ones will be submitted to Conference ProceedingsCitation Index-Science(CPCI-S) of Thomson Reuters.
