UNAIR NEWS– The Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) team of won the 3rd overall champion title of Paku Bumi Open 4 2018 Pencak Silat Championship. In the event, 10 golds, 4 silvers and 2 bronzes were collected by IPSI UNAIR team.The event took placein Bandung from 2 to 4 February 2018.
“In addition to being the overall champion III, IPSI UNAIR team won the best female adult category,” said team manager of IPSI UNAIR, Mohammad Zinnur Atthufail Addausi.
There are ten athletes from the IPSI UNAIR team who won the gold medals. They were Langlang Imam Aminudin, Moh. Zinnur Atthufail Addausi, Tirta Agung, Alfiansyah Noval, Alfiani Syahriyah, Eny Mayang Sari, Rafika Olivia, Devy Nadya Ramadhani, Galuh Purwaningsih, and Siti Aisyah.
Meanwhile, silver medals were from Fuad Agus Salim, Rizal Firmansyah, Eko Prasetyo, and Nur Fausiyah.Furthermore, two bronze medals successfully presented by Andaru Rizky and Fitri Kholifah.
Mohammad Zinnur Atthufail Addaus also explained that in the championship, the team members were from the student activity unit (UKM) Pencak Silat UNAIR.There are 19 people involved.In details, there were 16 athletes, 2 trainers, and 1 manager.
Because the time was short, athletes sent in the championship were the rest of the previous competition, the Singapore Open.They were the best athletes from all pencak silat clubs.In fact, there were only six preparatory exercises ended with ice bath.
The other obstacle faced by IPSI UNAIR team was the weather problem.In contrast to the hot city of Surabaya, the athletes were difficult to adapt to the cold city of Bandung.The long journey also forced the athletes to quickly recover their physical condition.
“Alhamdulillah, I am very happy and proud.Although with minimal preparation, we can become the overall champion III and won the title of the best adult female category.Hopefully the next generation can successfully get the pieces of medals in the other championships, “he concluded.(*)
