UNAIR NEWS– There is no doubt that Korean culture is currently very popular, even among students.听Therefore, King Sejong Institute (KSI) works with Dongseo University (DSU) and Petra Christian University (UKP) annually holdKorean Culture Day.听The event is held as an introduction to Korean culture, especially for students who want to learn Korean culture.
A collaboration with UNAIR Faculty of Humanities (FIB), Korean Culture Day 2019 was successfully held on Friday, April 26, 2019.听It was held in Campus B , 2nd Floor FIB Building Chairil Anwar Room and Siti Parwati, the event attracted more visitors than the committee’s expectation.
The annual program presented a variety of interesting performances, ranging fromTraditional Performances, K-pop Dancer,toKorean Singing Performance.
Furthermore, there were severalboothson ”Korean Culture Experiences“, such asKorean Traditional Food, Korean Calligraphy, andKorean Hanbok Photobooth.
Almost everybooth attracted visitors.听In theKorean Traditional Food Booth, for example, committee provides 400 portions of traditional Korean food and it runs out in less than half an hour.

The other booths were also interesting such asKorean CalligraphyBooth.听Together with students from DSU, visitors can have their name written in Korean writing (Hangul) by on the traditional Korean fan.
Gesang Manggala NP, M. Hum., as a lecturer at FIB UNAIR, said that the enthusiasm of the participants at the event was truly overwhelming.听Even beyond the expectation of the committee.
“The queue of visitors is also very extraordinary long,” he said.
The committee hoped that the visitors’ enthusiasm will be even higher in the future.听Gesang also added that in the future the committee will pay more attention to the space capacity used, including portion of food.
“It檚 my first joining a Korean event like this, especially on campus because it’s very rare, “said Catarina, one of the visitors.
“I want to go to more events like this.听Because it’sreallyinteresting inmy opinion.听Here we learn many things about Korean culture, ” she added.听(*)
