In his speech, Rector of UNAIR Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, S.E., M.T., Ak, CMA., looked forward for government, businessman and also academician able to establish maritime economic development that can provide the welfare for society.
淚 am expecting for the maritime business actor can be as success as Mrs. Susi. In this lecture, I also expect Mrs. Susi can give many ideas for us in maritime economics development, Nasih said
In the occasion, Susi said that Indonesia had huge maritime potential but it had not been utilized maximally. The cause was theft of marine resources by foreign fishermen.
When she was commissioned as a minister, she issued regulation that can stop the theft by sinking foreign ships.

She explained illegal fishing by foreign ships was very asymmetric with the capability of fishing gear of Indonesian ships. He pointed out; illegal fishing used nets that were 50 meters. Meanwhile, thousands of foreign ships illegally entered in the waters of Indonesia in every day.
