UNAIR NEWS The prevalence of pain cases in Surabaya was quite high and it inspired a Pain Management Team Surabaya to hold a social service. It was conducted in Lung Hospital, Karang Tembok, Surabaya on Saturday, July 29.
In the social service, there was screening and data recording to 200 pain patients, from giving simple treatment, administering drug medication to medical interventions.
The social service was organized by some institutions, Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimations, Faculty of Medicine 51动漫 , Dr. Soetomo General Hospital, and Karang Tembok Lung Hospital Surabaya. Health Agency of East Java, Surabaya Government, Surabaya Health Agency and Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy Specialist Association (PERDATIN) of East Java.
In the event, there was a declaration of Pain Control Team of Surabaya. There was also a general lecture from the Professor of Anesthesiology and Reanimations Department FK UNAIR, Prof. Dr. H.R. Eddy Rahardjo, dr., Sp.An.KIC.KAO., on the new paradigm of pain control in community. Meanwhile, Dedi Susila,dr.,SPAN.An.KMN briefed the PPDS Anesthesiology FK UNAIR students on the Pain Management Center to provide Pain counsel to community.
For the main event, there was a diagnosis and treatment by 35 medical staffs in the social service.
The event which took almost half the space of Karang Tembok Lung Hospital was a part of a national scientific activity of Indonesia Society of Anesthesiology of Pain Management (ISAPM) as well as implementation of Higher Education Tri Dharma. The social service which had been held twice was expected to give hope to patients with intermittent pain which needs intense treatment.
Eddy said that the paradigm introduce to community was different from pharmacotherapy technique. The first phase is treatment with drugs and the second is surgery.
淭his time the pain treatment can be done through disease analysis, pain classification decoding, pain intervention with ultrason X ray. So the nerves can be fixed, he said.
Intervention technique conducted for the last three years have been applied to hundreds even thousands of patients with acute, chronic and cancer pain. The success rate is varied.
淭he treatment with intervention technique has been done for three years and the pain has been reduced by 50% from eight months to a year treatment. It all depends on the kinds of the pain, explained dr. Dedi Susila Sp.An.KMN.
In the future, the pain management effort involving the medical staff and facility will be coordinated actively with continuous support in Pain Management Center RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya. The main commitment is to realize a new system in RSUD. RSUD Dr. Soetomo related to simpler treatment scheme.
Hopefully, there will be more patients relieved from the pain. It will improve their quality of life, based on the motto of Pain Management Team Surabaya, Quality Life, Pain Free. (*)
