UNAIR NEWS – Student Affairs Representative Forum of East Java Universities unanimously approved the report on the results on the implementation of Indonesian Student Sports Board (BAPOMI) of East Java in the National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) XV 2017 in Makassar, South Sulawesi, last October.
The approval was made in a meeting in BAPOMI meeting in Main Assembly Room , led by Head of BAPOMI East Java, Prof.Djoko Santoso, dr., Ph.D., Sp.PD., K-GH., FINASIM, on Monday, January 22.
Prof.Djoko Santoso, who is also the Vice Rector I UNAIR, expressed his deepest gratitude for the trust and sincerity from the committee involved in struggling in POMNAS, so BAPOMI Jatim team is still ranked fifth in POMNAS held in Makassar, South Sulawesi , on 14-21 October 2018.
As we all know, for this period the BAPOMI East Java leadership is under the coordination of UNAIR. Prof.Djoko Santoso was appointed as Head of BAPOMI East Java while the Executive Chief of BAPOMI East Java was entrusted to Dr.M. Hadi Shubhan, SH., MH., CN., the Director of Student Affairs UNAIR.Hadi Shubhan in this meeting served as moderator.

Secretary of BAPOMI East Java.Edy Mintarto, M.Kes., as the commander of East Java POMNAS Contingent added that staying in the top five position of POMNAS was of a struggle, hard work and sincerity of all parties in a limited situation.Jatimfinishedin the 5th position under BAPOMI Jakarta, West Java, the host of South Sulawesi, and Central Java.
Without its best athletes, East Java was able to win 12 gold medals, 26 silver medals, and 28 bronze medals.It competed with Central Java who won 13 gold, 16 silver, and 32 bronze medals.
Due to the limitations, he said, the East Java team was almost eliminated from the participation of POMNAS 2017. Perhaps the committee thought that without East Java POMNAS will not be lively, so additional leeway of time was given up to 24 hours, then we agreed to work together and finally went to Makassar.
“As the commander of the contingent, I would like to extend my gratitude, especially to the board and 30 teams of highly contributive committee during POMNAS in Makassar,” said Edy, a lecturer at Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa).
Although the time before departure was difficult, after POMNAS completed with achievements, finally Pemrov East Java provide financial assistance.In the agreement of the board and the committee, the funds will be used for the athletes and committee POMNAS Java.(*)
