(11/5/2023) | Becoming a good lawyer takes work. Some of the skills needed by lawyers are to speak clearly and to have good legal choices or decisions. ILSA sees this as something that must be promoted because these are two skills that students of the Faculty of Law, 51动漫, need. Regarding this, ILSA then created a webinar that discussed career issues, especially in the attorney field. The webinar is “Career at Law Firm: Learn to be an Outspoken and Make a Good Legal Decision.”
This career talk composed by ILSA invited Michael Tardif and Ari Bessendorf as the speakers. Both are foreign legal consultants at the Ginting & Reksodiputro Law Firm, which is associated with the Allen & Overy Law Firm. Bayu Arrasya hosted this event as MC, and Alldeira Lucky Syawalayesha as Moderator. This event is a recurring event held by ILSA.
The Career Talk begins with an opening, then continues with a material session. The two speakers gave the material simultaneously. The material they presented might look different from the webinar’s title. Still, gradually the audience will realize that Tardif and Bessendorf are taking a theme closely related to the development of Indonesian law. Tardif and Bessendorf presented an initial article entitled “Project Financing Basics: An Exploration of Non-Recourse Funding.” From that initial theme, new topics were developed, such as what types of projects are commonplace in Indonesia if you want to get involved in the non-recourse funding sector.
Tardif and Bessendorf said that in project financing, there are things that must be considered: leverage and non-recourse, risk allocation, share & asset security, debt, and equity. Lawyers who wish to defend clients in economic disputes and transactional law must pay attention to these things. The attorney’s role in terms of profit is to maximize the available money so that the client does not lose more and so that he gains as much as possible. Therefore, a lawyer’s work is significant even though the role is not seen directly.
Tardif and Michael then gave tips to the participants to keep learning, continue to be open-minded individuals, get the best grades possible in lectures, and the, most important thing is to adapt as best they can. The webinar continued with a Q&A session, closing, and issuing certificates. This time, the participants in the Zoom room were very interested in the topics presented because the speakers invited were world-class speakers. The 110 participants, from the beginning to the end of the Zoom, faithfully listened to the material given by the speaker.
