(28/4/2023) | It’s no longer a debate; most students want to continue their studies after graduating from Strata 1 to the next strata. The choice of tertiary institutions also varies because it is not uncommon for undergraduate graduates to wish to continue their studies not only limited to universities in Indonesia but also abroad. This is certainly challenging if done independently by students. Therefore, some scholarships can help ease the burden of studying abroad.
In the Webinar “ALSA LEGAL ENGLISH CLASS: How to Write the Best Essay for Applying for Scholarship” on Saturday (15/4/2023), we can look deeper into maximizing our essays while applying for scholarships for further studies overseas. The resource person for this webinar is Aulia Intani, a candidate for the Master of Laws on Intellectual Property & Digital Economy at Glasgow University, Scotland.
In her presentation, Aulia first introduced herself. This woman, who graduated from Airlangga University in 2018, continued her production in the materials section. In her materials, Aulia first explained that to write an essay, and we must first know our goals. Because when we already know what we want, it will be easier to choose the university to go to and the series of sentences to write.
Then after setting goals, what must be done next is to put these ideas into essay form. The essay must also be coherent and clear so recruiters can understand our meaning. The structure of a good essay must consist of a self-introduction, current conditions, problems or issues, reasons why choosing the campus that is being registered, and finally, the contribution that will be made to the campus.
Amid the chaos of writing essays, taking “safety” measures is also necessary. One example is constantly monitoring our respective timelines whenever we want to apply for a scholarship or what scholarships are suitable and possible for each of us.
