(28/4/2023) | Graphic Design must be commonly known by students. In graphic design, there are certain principles in design to set the graphics or display you want to issue. Graphic design is also essential in every aspect of buying and selling, even life. This is because graphic design also has something to do with whether or not a design is attractive.
Realizing that this is something worth learning, ILSA Unair Chapter on Saturday (15/4/2023) then held a webinar entitled “Workshop Design: “How to Find Your Idea Bank,” which was filled in by Muh. Fikal Nasir as a guest speaker. This webinar is intended for Unair Faculty of Law students to have broader knowledge about graphic design and also to be able to implement it at every opportunity.
Fikal begins his material with a background in graphic design, then continues with visual design principles consisting of balance, harmony, contrast, and emphasis. After directions, Fikal discusses graphic design elements of line, space, shape, typography, size, and color. These elements must be connected to fulfill the principles of graphic design itself. Then Fikal also describes the details he has mentioned one by one.
One of the most crucial things, according to Fikal, is color and typography. Therefore there must be a unique trick to combining colors in graphic design. The colors are divided into primary, secondary, analog, and triad colors. The choice of color must follow the needs and the type of color itself. Apart from color, the design language also has typography or fonts. The typography used must be according to requirements, according to the visual hierarchy, according to whether or not the font is readable, and also the clear difference between the two fonts.
In closing, Fikal then recommended several graphic design software which he thought were good. The recommendations are CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Figma.
