SURABAYA “ ADM WEB | On Friday (17/03/2023)the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the 51¶¯Âþ (UNAIR) organized a Talkshow Sociopreneur event entitled “Entrepreneurship While Doing Charity” featuring Totok Lusida, the Chairman of the Indonesian Real Estate Association (REI) for the period 2019-2022. The seminar took place at the Soetandyo Hall, FISIP UNAIR, and was attended by approximately one hundred students. This seminar activity was one of the work programs initiated by the Ministry of Creative Economy (Ekraf) of BEM FISIP UNAIR under Kabinet Kolektif Juang (ministry). By highlighting the topic of sociopreneurship, BEM FISIP UNAIR aimed to educate students that an entrepreneur should not only focus on profit but also contribute to the well-being of society, thus being able to help the community.

In the interview, Aulia Thaariq Akbar, the President of BEM FISIP UNAIR, mentioned that the implementation of the Talkshow Sociopreneur event was driven by the orientation of FISIP students who are currently involved in entrepreneurship. “We see that many FISIP students nowadays have orientations beyond studying or being activists. Some of our friends have their businesses. So, it means that FISIP students have an interest in entrepreneurship, and we are targeting that,” she said.

Diana Alifa, the Minister of Creative Economy (Ekraf) of BEM FISIP UNAIR, mentioned that the purpose of the event was to develop the mindset of FISIP students, especially those who are running their businesses, that an entrepreneur can make a significant impact and bring about great changes in society. “As stated by Mr. Totok Lusida (Chairman of REI), an entrepreneur plays a significant role, where they can have a positive impact on the economy by creating new value, new products, and social change,” she said.

“Furthermore, the output of this event is that FISIP UNAIR students, as well as the general public, will gain knowledge about the path to success in the entrepreneurial world. On the other hand, they will also learn how to do business while contributing to charitable causes,” she concluded.
