UNAIR NEWS Roadshow Professional World Preparation Seminar by Career and Entrepreneurship Development Center (PPKK) 51 (UNAIR) has been held. After being held in some faculties in UNAIR, this time it was hosted by Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH). It was held on Wednesday and Thursday, July 13-14, to prepare the students to face professional world in Room 3B FKH.
The seminar was held two days. For the first day, topic on entrepreneur mindset from the Head of PPKK Dr. Elly Munadziroh started the day. Then it was followed with entrepreneurship topic by Dr. Tri Siwi Agustina as the coordinator of Entrepreneurship Development of PPKK. Then topic on assessment was given by Dr. Hamidah as the coordinator of Training and Consultation of PPKK, who is also a psychologist. The participants were directed to do role play assessment. It was a direct practice on assessment test which was welcomed enthusiastically by the participants. They were enthusiastic to know their own potentials before deciding a career path or employers. It ended the activities for the first day.
For the second day, topic on writing Curriculum Vitae (CV) and effective application letter was presented by Dr. Epy Muhammad Luqman who is also the secretary of PPKK UNAIR. In applying for jobs, CV and application letter are important to determine our success to get through the next phase. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to our CV, to make it not only interesting but also effective as elaborated by Epy. Then, the participants were motivated by Drh. Sugeng Pudjiono who is also the Director of PT.ISSU Medika Veteriner. Sugeng who is also an alumnus of FKH Unair, Class 1988 is managing some other businesses such as Kopi Luwak Cikole also a cafe and restaurant KLC in Bandung. The topic on From Intrapreneur to Entrepreneur by Sugeng, expanded the students knowledge on entrepreneurship of the man who used to be the General Manager of PT.Sanbe Farma and Caprifarmindo Labs.
UNAIR graduates must have entrepreneurship. Because with it they will learn to solve problems, create opportunities and learn to be different. It also makes them more valuable, said Sugeng.
After learning about entrepreneurship, the participants was briefed on how to do interview effectively. Interviews usually become the last phase of selection process, therefore accurate and effective strategies are needed. The topic was presented by Ninil Indrasari, as Section Head Human Capital JNE Branch Surabaya. The seminar was closed with the last presentation on online recruitment by Badrus Zaman,S.Kom,MCs as the coordinator of Career Development Based on Technology of PPKK. (*)
