UNAIR NEWS –Three students of Faculty of Psychology 51动漫 (UNAIR) have wonBest Innovationin theNational E-Presentation Competition(NEPC).听They are Ni Luh Ayu W.S.K, Elda Artamevia, and Belinda Fidi Madani.听They won the competition with their idea 媼optimizing theofflinelearning system policyduring thenew normal.

In a question and answer session nearing the end of Freedom of Learning Student Conference (KMMB), the three of them said that the idea came up because they saw the missing supports of school in socio-emotional development, especially for elementary school (SD) students. According to them, the shortening of learning hours which only lasted two hours and the loss of face-to-face learning time during the pandemic caused a lack of student interaction with their surroundings. It can reduce students’ ability in emotional exploration and moral explanation.

“The Minister of Education and Culture is currently allowing schools in the yellow and green zones to hold face-to-face learning. Based on the development of educational psychology, we want to help optimizing this policy, 漞xplained Elda as team representative.

The three students offered three new ideas to achieve effective learning while paying attention to the socio-emotional aspects and health protocols.听Among them are the delivery of subjects with theMastery Learning Model, ice breaking, andeducative playing.

Mastery Learning Model, according to Elda, is a learning system where the teacher starts the class by conveying the learning objectives that will be achieved on that day.听Then, the teacher delivers the material by means of aformative assessmentto identify and improve student abilities.听Furthermore, thefeedbackstageand making corrections to students are also important.

“The last stage, the teacher can provideenrichmentby giving online assignments to students,” she explained.

Furthermore, he said thatice breakingis an important element to liven up the classroom atmosphere and increaseengagement.听The three students gave several recommendations forice breakinggamesthat werefunbut still paid attention tophysical distancing, such as the Boss Says, Three Six Nine, Calling Objects, etc.

“Meanwhile, educative playingitself aims to stimulate children’s development and replace breaks as a time for interaction between students,” she concluded.
