UNAIR NEWSÌý“ At the end of 2019 Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) 51¶¯Âþ (UNAIR) is preparing a collaboration with Lincoln University New Zealand.ÌýIt will renew a long-established partnership with Lincoln University which has existed since 2015.
Bayu Arie Fianto SE., MBA., PhD., as a lecturer in Islamic Economics, FEB UNAIR as well as Lincoln University alumnus said that the dialogue to establish a partnership with Lincoln University has begun in 2015 and its intensity has improved in the last two years.Ìý“We have long been in close contact with Lincoln University.ÌýThey have sent their students to UNAIR for aÌýsummerÌýprogram for 2 weeks.ÌýFEB also once sent its lecturers there for a visit and guest lectures, “Bayu said.
After giving a guest lecture at FEB Tirtodiningrat Hall on Friday, October 4, 2019, Professor Christopher Gan as a Lincoln University representative from Faculty of Commerce and Agribusiness revealed that collaboration with UNAIR was a promising collaboration for Lincoln University.Ìý“The exchange of lecturing staff and student so far has produced excellent output.ÌýNext year I will accept UNAIR’s invitation to give classes and become supervisors forÌýpostgraduateÌýstudents.ÌýSo overall this collaboration isÌýbeneficialÌýin many ways, “said the professor of accounting and finance.
Vice Dean III of FEB,Ìý, revealed that the MoU with Lincoln University became an initiation of broader collaboration in various aspects, as Lincoln University was considered a good old friendÌýby FEB UNAIR.
“Through this MoU we want to increase collaboration inÌýjoint research. Lincoln agribusiness itself is one of the best in the world.ÌýWe will send lecturers and students to conduct research in New Zealand.ÌýThis is merely to improve the writing skill of lecturers and students, so their works are easily indexed by Scopus journals, “said Dr.ÌýNisful.
“Moreover, Lincoln University was chosen because it hasÌýan excellentÌýtrack recordÌýin improving its world rankings.ÌýThey are now ranked 200 in the world.ÌýOf course we hope that this collaboration will be able to help UNAIR to reach Top 500 of the world, “stated Dr.ÌýNisful.
The improvement of academic relations between UNAIR and Lincoln University is expected to increaseÌýstudent mobility, international insight of students,Ìýnetworking, and publication of international journals.ÌýMeanwhile Prof.ÌýGan at the end of the interview encouraged the students of UNAIR to continue their studies with great enthusiasm.
