Sharing with Tasya Kamila on LPDP Scholarship

UNAIR NEWS– Tasya Kamila, a young celebrity who is now growing into a beautiful and smart woman, apparently, has become an inspiration for many other women.Tasya, graduated from Faculty of Economics and Business University of Indonesia, continued her education at Columbia University, USA after obtaining a S2 scholarship from Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP).

Tasya majored inpublic administrationwith a concentration ofenvironmental policy and management.She was graduated with a grade point average (GPA) above 3.7.

When she was a student at Columbia University, Tasya was involved in two UN (United Nations) events. the Economic and Social Council Forum (ECOSOC) and became a moderator at the Winter Youth Assembly in New York.

Tasya’s achievements have made her invited as aguest starat the BEAUTYVERSITY Public Speaking Training program held by Ministry of Women’s Empowerment (PP) of Student Executive Board (BEM) Universitas in Kahuripan Hall Campus C on Saturday, September 1.

Ina sharing session, Taysa recounted her journey as a student in America.The session was moderated by Adinda Putri, a student who was also Miss Earth Indonesia Animal Welfare 2018.

Tasya explained that before being elected as LPDP scholarship awardee, she prepared the administrative requirements such as forms and supporting documents (diplomas, statements, etc.) including essays on her greatest success in life, contributions to Indonesia, and study plans.

“Public speakingalso is also needed for substantive selection, there is an interview stage.Then, if you want to continue studying from the beginning, set your timeline, complete the campus requirements and the scholarship requirements, “said Tasya.

Asked about her experience abroad, Tasya acknowledged that there are challenges of living abroad especially.It is different from her regular schools.

“The positive value obtained, we will be aware on how far we canpush, as well as knowing our weaknesses and strengths, to know more about yourself.Of course, when I was there, I was more independent, ” she concluded.(*)
