Spiritual Student Units Work with Excellence with Morality

51 has 39 Student Activity Units (UKM).Five of them, are in spiritual division, UKM of Islamic, Christian, Catholic, Buddhist and Hindu.Through this spiritual division, students are trained to remain firm in their religion.

Students are also taught to be serious in their studies as seeking knowledge is the command of God Almighty. With science, human beings can be more useful to the universe. In principle, the understanding of religion is absolute.

“Religious understanding is very important for students. In this phase as a student, someone has a very strategic position in society with their intellectual and moral strength, “explained the Head of Islamic Spiritual Unit Muhammad Affan.“At the age of college student as well, someone is in their peak performance physically and mentally,” added the student of the Faculty of Law.“Therefore, religious insight which guides all the student potential towards goodness is needed, in the hope that students can always bring benefits for the surrounding,” he said.

“Religious insight is the basis or the need of students to do all the activities,” said the Head of Catholic Spiritual Unit Cristoforus Candra Bima Pangestu.“Not only that, religious knowledge is also the basis of our faith as religious people who believe in God managing our lives” added the student of Science and Environmental Technology 2014.

“Religion serves as a grip, role model and guidance in daily life.As a student, religion can be a reference to become a better human being, and useful for the environment, ” said Irene Sugiarto, the member of Buddhist Spiritual Unit.“Not just being a smart student, but also with moral, just like the slogan of UNAIR Excellence with Morality,” added the student majoring in Accounting.

To have morality, one must deepen the knowledge of religion. However, religion is not merely an insight, but actual deeds.People who understand about religion do not necessarily have good behavior.“Make religion as a reference and not only as memorization,” said the fifth semester student.(*)
