UNAIR NEWS –Fostering enthusiasm in the beginning of the month, the Information and Library Science Student Association (HIMAFORSTA) held an event entitled Library and Information Science Party (Librarty) Games on Saturday, September 1.The activity involved four active classes of IIP from the new generation 2018 to 2015. There are three series of competitions, Fun Games, badminton matches, and futsal matches.
Dwita Cendani, chief executive of Librarty Game, explained that the activity was a continuation of the work program of the Sports Arts and Talent Interest (SOMBA) period last year. There are additional events and changed names. He mentioned that the activity used to be called Solidarity Game.
“This time we renamed it Librarty Game and there are additional series of activities,” he said.
Despite the name changes, this does not mean changing the essence of the activity. The IIP 2016 student added that the Librarty Game became arefreshingtoolfor IIP students in the midst of tight schedule of college. It was also a venue for strengthening ties between generations. The event also held to welcome the HIMAFORSTA Anniversary in October.
Being held in the car park of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), the event was started with Fun Games, competition in style of independence day contests such as crisps-eating competition, rubber relay, ping pong relay and rocking balloon.
Even though it is packaged simply, it does not necessarily reduce the excitement and enthusiasm of the participants.Lively and cheering supporters of each generation enlivened the spirit of the match. After the Fun Games, the event continued with badminton and futsal matches.
Victory is usually expected in a competition. However, it is different from the Librarty Game.Victory is not important because the main purpose of the event is to strengthen the sense of solidarity and kinship.
Reza Octasep Pahelvi, chairman of HIMAFORSTA 2018, expressed his impressions and hopes after the event began. “Thankfully, this activity received a positive response. All classes participated in this event, “he said.
“Hopefully IIP friends can get to know each other more closely. Not only their own class, but all classes students, “he said.
