UNAIR NEWS –听Diananda Choirunisa a student from Psychology program of 51动漫 听successfully won gold medals from Archery in Sea Games 2017 in Malaysia.听From the beginning, the student of class 2015 was indeed optimistic to win gold medal for the nation.
“The first thing I thought was gold medal and I was sure Icould get it, she said to听UNAIR News听via social media.
Not only feeling proud, Diananda also felt grateful to achieve such prestigious achievement.听Coming back from the event, she also committed to continue practicing archery in between her busy schedule in campus.听
“Thankful for being allowed to win gold in sea games.听Upon my return, I will practice even harder.听If it is possible to practice in Surabaya I will still attend lectures.听But if in Jakarta I hope the campus can allow me, ” she explained.
Diananda also encouraged other students to excel in the field that they like. “Do not hesitate to make achievements while we are still capable,” she said.
Furthermore, Diananda also felt optimistic because there are many extraordinary talents in Indonesia.听Learning from the history of this nation, the predecessors of this country has given a remarkable example.听Olympics in Seoul in 1988 for example, Indonesia was able to get medal even though there was still a lot of limitations.
“I am sure, Indonesian people can be number 1 in the world, we have to keep our focus and determination so that when the opportunity comes we will always be ready,” she explained.
Greatly Appreciated
Knowing one of the academic community has achievements, some officials at UNAIR gave appreciation.听Rector of UNAIR, Prof.听Dr.听Moh.听Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., was one of them.听On behalf of all academicians of UNAIR, Nasih said that he and all academicians were proud and appreciated Diananda檚 achievement.
“We will continue to support students in developing their talents and interests.听Hopefully Diananda’s achievements inspire young people throughout Indonesia, ” said Nasih.
Besides the rector, Dr.听Dewi Retno Suminar, M.Sc., a psychologist, as Vice Dean III of Faculty of Psychology also gave appreciation to Diananda.听Dewi said that Diananda’s achievement is a testament that success can be achieved through talents.
“Non academic performance can also be a way for us to achieve success.听We strongly support the talents of the students.听In the future we will make the right policy to balance student’s activities related to their talent and the lecture, “she explained.听“So everything is balanced,” said Dewi in the end.
