UNAIR NEWS Political problems can be studied with any other scientific approaches such as Psychology. It has been proven by Rr. Amanda Pasca Rini. It was started from aggressiveness happening around Indonesia during general election, she studied that issue with a psychological point of view.
With dissertation titled 淧engaruh Private Conformity, Fanatisme, Group Self Esteem, dan Kepatuhan Pada Otoritas Terhadap Agresivitas Partisan Parpol, the woman known as Amanda was graduated from doctoral program in Faculty of Psychology UNAIR with honor or Cum Laude, after defending her dissertation in the open exam on Friday, January 6.
Regarding her research, Amanda said that 2004 was the starting point of Democratic Indonesia. Indonesia should have been better with general election, as the people can choose their leaders they can trust. But political parties often attacked the winning opposition. Therefore, Amanda tried to find solutions to this problem.
淩egional general election (Pilkada), Legislative election (Pileg) or President Election often showed aggressiveness. They fought, vandalized and many other negative. It made me wanted to know what makes them aggressive, she said.
She needs nine semesters to be the twelfth doctor of Faculty of Psychology UNAIR. She has had her challenges as she has to teach in Faculty of Psychology Universitas 17 Agustus Surabaya (UNTAG),be a reviewerin Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) and a staff in Indonesian Psychology Association (Himpsi) of East Java.
Even though she had a lot of activities, it was not an issue for her as she always communicates and coordinates with people who supports her so she could finish her study without any real problems. (*)
