UNAIR NEWS Last week, world university ranking organization, Webometrics, released the list of 602 top researchers in Indonesia. They are researchers with h-index(expertness index) above 10. There are ten experts from 602 coming from 51动漫.
淲e should be thankful as there are ten researchers on the list, said Badri Munir Sukoco, Ph.D, Head of Planning and Development Board (BPP) UNAIR.
Their expertness index, version of Webometrics, was calculated from the number of publications and the citations of a scientist from the Google Scholar. UNAIR scientists who want to be on the list, should first create an account in Google Scholar, set their profile status to Public and they should use the institutional email of UNAIR.
Before uploading research publications, the researchers must make sure that the works they uploaded belong to them as there are cases where scholars have a lot of citations but they are not in the list of top researchers Webometrics.
淏e more careful to fill in the data. Make sure that it is our own works. People will check our track record. If we make mistakes, we can be banned, said Badri.
Beside Google Scholar, Badri also suggested other social media accounts useful to publish researches such as Research Gate, Academia.Edu, Orcid,补苍诲听听惭别苍诲别濒别测. When a researcher creates the account, other researchers can easily download, citate and use it as a reference. The number of citations then increases.
淭herefore, we make some efforts so the lecturers have their accounts and keep updating them, Badri added.
To improve citations, UNAIR targeted 20 percent of UNAIR lecturers to become professors by 2020. At the moment, there are 177 UNAIR active professors. They are expected to keep conducting researches and publishing so their citations also increase.
淭hrough publications, they will earn professorship, citations will increase as well. Regarding reputations, it will not improve if we never publish our works. Lecturers reputation can be seen from the competence, said Badri who has h-index 11 based on Webometrics.
Badri added that UNAIR is trying to improve the academic climate.
