UNAIR NEWS –as a muslim, do the fasting in Ramadhan month is a must. In every year, Ramadhan has good memories.
UNAR NEWS crew digging the experience of an exchange student AMERTA (Academic Mobility Exchange for Undergraduate) program. His name is Amin Muhammad Musa from Chulalongkorn University, told about his experience about first Ramadhan fasting in Indonesia.
Living in a country of ASEAN, the student who addressed as Amin said that there is no strictly difference of fasting.
淭he difference is not strictly because in my country also have tarawih prayer and break the fast together, it just earlier here, Amin said

Regarding to the food, Amin also said that Indonesian food was not the problems for him. In addition to the similarity of Thailand food, in the first ten days of Ramadan, Amin chose to cook at the boarding house with friends for ifthar and suhrr (Pre-dawn Meal).
淭his is my first time to do fasting in Indonesia. I have no trouble with food here because it similar to my country. During Ramadhan, I often to cook with my friend at my boarding house, He said
Talking about missing moment, Amin admitted that he could not spend Ramadhan with his family this year. Nevertheless, Amin felt so grateful, because during stay in Indonesia he can read alquran more efficient.
淔or this Ramadhan, I am so thankful because I can read Alquran regularly more than last year due to the high activities of college, Amin said
For the next days of Ramadhan. Amin planned to visit some mosques in Surabaya to feel the atmosphere of ifthar and Trawih prayer together.
淭his still the first 10 days of fasting, so I have only discovered few mosques in Surabaya, Insha Allah, I have plan to visit other mosques in Surabaya for tarawih or iftar,” he explained.
“For rakah tarawih almost the same with my country, there are 20 and 8,” Amin added
According to him, the meaning of Ramadhan is equality. The boy who born in Patani South Thailand said that when it comes to Ramadhan, all the people from rich to poor people can be the one, both in ifthar or do other worship together.
