UNAIR NEWS – Magetan Regency (East Java) is famous for its nickname,听The Nice of Java.It is also called the City at the Foot of the Mountain, for its beautiful mountain tour, cool air, and stunning natural scenery.Moreover, Magetan has some famous tourist spots, Lake Sarangan and Lake Wahyu located on the foot of Mount Lawu.
Magetan is also known as “Pension City”, because of its peaceful, peaceful, without bustling traffic as inter-city buses do not pass through Magetan, so many retirees aged 60 and above feel comfortable to live in Magetan.
A quiet environment can provide a positive vibe for the retired elderly, therefore student team was interested in conducting research in one village in Magetan Regency, Taji Village.
From the description above, the Student Creativity Program team in Humanities Social Research (PKM-PSH) from Nursing bachelor檚 degree program 51动漫, wrote a study entitled “TheTherapeuticEnvironment Affecting Quality ofPost Power SyndromeLifein Taji Village, Karas Subdistrict, Magetan Regency”.
The PKM-PSH team is led by Oktaviana Ristya Anggraini, with members, Regina Dwi Fridayanti and Miftakhul Janah.Under the guidance and direction of Rista Fauziningtyas, S.Kep.Ns., M.Kep., the research program successfully passed selection and received funding from Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) in Student Creativity Program (PKM) in 2018.

Explained by Oktaviana RA, the elderly has a positive view on retirement.But there are some who perceive retirement negatively by assuming that retirement is the end of everything.Post Power Syndromeoccurs because of several factors, such as lack of self-acceptance, social withdrawal, expectation for positions, negative self-concept, and unstable emotions.
While the quality of life according to theWorld Health Organization(WHO) is the perception of a person in the context of culture and norms in accordance with the person’s life in relation to goals, expectations, standards and care throughout life.
For the research, the team conductedin-depth interviewswith eight people.The results of the study found four themes. First, changes that occur such as economy, mood, and daily activities.Second,efforts to cope with changes by conducting social activities, religious activities.Third, social support from family, neighbors, and physical / environmental weather.Fourth, theutilization of health services including level I healthcare facility, elderly Posyandu, and Insurance.
Economic issues was also expressed by an interviewee.For example with the statement: “As for me,听before retirement, I still have income.There is still some every month.But now, there is nothing“.听About the changes in the activity, for example, revealed by an expression: “The difference,听I do not work anymore, but I look after my grandchildren.
There are statements on social or religious activity, for example;“For the women, there is Yasinan activity, we don檛 have special activity for men,听but there is arisan“.TheYasinanactivitiesevery Friday night, for example, gives benefits to the women as their relationships and communication are maintained well.
Most interviewees revealed that the environment is safe, peaceful, fresh and free from pollution.The weather is not hot either.While access to health services such as healthcare facilities level I (Puskesmas, clinic doctors) and Posyandu elderly are also very easy and affordable.There are more people using the facilities of BPJS and ASKIN.(*)
