Anatomy Patologist UNAIR Detects Cervical Cancer with ThinPrep Pap Smear
UNAIR NEWS “ Cervical cancer detection with pap smear is not a final diagnosis. Husada Utama Hospital at this moment is currently developing ThinPrep Pap Smear in its Urogyn Clinic. It is a pap smear checkup based on liquid performed automatically with instrument.
Five doctors of anatomy pathologist were prepared to ThinPrep Pap Smear. One of the doctors was a lecturer of Faculty of Medicine (FK) 51¶¯Âþ (UNAIR), dr. Pungky Mulawardhana, Sp.OG.
One of the excellences of ThinPrep Pap Smear is its representative sample collection as all samples on the brush were directly inserted to prepared solution. The result is 80% accurate. To use this ThinPrep Pap Smear, patients have to spend Rp 400 thousand.
