UNAIR NEWS –Accounting students of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) 51动漫 (UNAIR) have attended a conference, InternationalYoung Leadership Conference, at Tunku Abdul Rahman University (UTAR), Malaysia.The event themedYouth Empowerment and Inclusion in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) took place on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 to Sunday, October 27, 2019.
Muhammad Ulil Albab Nur Farisyi or Ulil, one of the conference participants explained the conference discussed about the implementation of the SDGs, especially related to how to achieve 17 goals in the SDGs in 2030.
“I myself participated in this activity because I was interested in the theme of SDGs which really needs to be disseminated and implemented in Indonesia because it is very influential for survival in the future,” explained the 2017 accounting student.
There are several activities carried out by participants at the event such as plenarysession, sharing for action, learning by doing, and discussions between countries.There are several countries participating in these activities, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, China, and Taiwan.
Insharing for actionactivities,students shared stories about the experiences of people who are active in the field while inlearning by doingactivities,students learned about the issues in more practical manner.
“The most memorable thing is of course getting new experiences, getting new friends from various countries, and knowing how people outside our country think,” he continued.
There were twenty students participating in the activity. Twelve of them were from the class of 2016, six students from the class of 2017, and two students from the class of 2018.
After participating in the activity, Ulil hoped that the knowledge gained can be useful mainly to achieve the seventeen SDGs.
“Hopefully Indonesia can immediately achieve the target of 17 goals in the SDGs, given that our neighboring countries are one step ahead in implementing SDGs,” he concluded. (*)
