UNAIR NEWS –There were two teams with eight personnel of Student Activity Unit (UKM) Voluntary Corps (KSR) Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) 51动漫 (UNAIR) got trophies from National Voluntary Red Cross Competition (NVRCC). NVRCC is a national level competition held by KSR PMI Unit, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). The competition was held on July 23-27, in Kampung Budaya, UNNES.
There were 24 teams from many universities in Indonesia participated in NVRCC. Participating universities were , Universitas Diponegoro, Poltekkes Semarang, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Universitas Negeri Jember, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Universitas Syah Kualah Aceh, and STMIKPPKIA Tarakanita RahmawatiTarakan.
There were many categories in the competition, such as Quiz, Mapping, WASH (Water and Sanitation Hygiene) Designing, First Aid and Orienteering Challenge. The participants showed their competitiveness and sportsmanship. Through the event, UKM KSR PMI succeeded in bringing three thropies home. They were the second place on First Aid contest, Second place in Orienteering Challenge, and third place on Disaster Risk Minimizing Program.
淏eside winning second place on First Aid contest, Second place in Orienteering Challenge, and third place on Disaster Risk Minimizing Program, we also got into the final of the quiz but finally we only achieved 8 and 9 place in the category, said Noval Salim, Head of UKM KSR PMI UNAIR.
According to Noval, UNAIR delegation had made considerable preparation for the competition. A week before the competition, they had practiced intensively with many parties, either internal or external of UKM such as practice intensively with Surabaya Red Cross and Student Regiment UKM.
淎 week before the competition held, our team practice intensively. We did not only do it by ourselves. PMI Surabaya also helped us on Vulnerability Capacity Assessment (VCA) and WASH Designing. Student Regiment UKM also helped us on land navigation especially for Orientering Challenge, he said.
This success in national level is quite an achievement for the contingent. Prior to the event, the contingent won the third place in Evacuation competition in SRCC during commemoration of Global AIDS Day 2015.
淚t is a first for UKM KSR PMI to be national winners. Mostly of our achievements were made in regional level. With this achievement, hopefully UKM KSR PMI UNAIR can participate and make better achievements for the alma mater, said Dwi Ratna Paramitha, a participant of the competition. (*)
