UNAIR NEWS– UKM KSR-PMI wins in various categories in UNICOVS (UNYNATIONAL COMPETITIONS OF VOLUNTEER SKILLS) 2018. 2nd Overall winner, 4st place of Mapping, 1st place of Effective Technology (TTG), and Grade A and B trophies at competitions held at Yogyakarta State University (UNY).Their success was certainly worth the effort they made.
Rizky Supra Mulyanaputra, as the Head of UKM KSR-PMI and one of the participants of the competition, said that they had exercise every day for 2 weeks.The exercise is started with physical exercise and then followed with materials.
“At 16.00-17.00 we have physical exercise, while the practice starts at 18.00 until around 21.00.There is a break for prayer and dinner, “explained Supra.
Training materials are tailored to the specific needs of each category.There are three categories that are contested on UNICOVS, namely First Aid (PP), Mapping, and Effective Technology.
Supra explained, in the first aid category they are required to know how to help the victims in accordance with the emergency.
“We in the PP category are faced with victims who have been put make-up as simulation.While in the mapping category we stay for 5 hours to analyze the BKRK (Hazard Vulnerability Risk Capacity) of the place, “said Supra.
For the last category, effective technology, he said, UKM KSR-PMI UNAIR created a prototype of child education media technology.It was in a form of a box similar to regular gift with interesting 4 sides with visualization of disasters in three dimension.
“The name of the prototype is ‘DINO MAKAN NASI or Disaster No!No!No!Child Educational Games In Disaster Preventative Efforts, “he explained.
In the competition which was followed by 28 teams from all over Indonesia, the UKM KSR-PMI UNAIR expected the best result.
“Although the participants were from all across Indonesia, we strived to stay focused with what we have learned during practice,” he said.
At the end, after winning at UNIVOCS in UNY, UKM KSR-PMI, Supra will organize the National Joint Exercise around August.
