UNAIR FKH Lecturer Gains Experience in Staff Exchange Program in Japan

UNAIR NEWS – In order to gain more knowledge, 51动漫 Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) (UNAIR) provided an opportunity for its lecturer to study abroad.The activity was held for ten days, from August 28 to September 6, 2018, at Azabu University, Sagamihara, Kanagawa, Japan.

FKH UNAIR lecturer who participated in the program was Dhandy Koesoemo Wardhana, drh., M.Vet.The program organized by Azabu University was calledSakura Science Plan 2018. It was sponsored by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).

“In addition to gain knowledge, thisstaff exchangewas also held to learn about the culture there and look for possible scholarships to continue their studies,” said the lecturer born on October 15, 1990.

The staff exchangeprogram wasattended by lecturers from several countries in Asia such as Indonesia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.

During the learning process, participants ofSakura Science Plan 2018conducted a practicum and received lectures from lecturers in Japan regarding the diagnosis of infectious diseases and prevention of outbreaks related to animal health.Participants were also asked to make several presentations such as presentations on infectious diseases in animals that occurred in each country and scientific posters.

“We also made several visits to the Visit Life Museum of Azabu University, JICA Museum in Yokohama, and Dr.Sugiura Museum of the First Schistosoma Japonicum in Yamanashi, “he added.

Dhandy said, after following the activities there were some knowledge that could be applied in UNAIR.One of them is the modern practicum method for infectious diseases in animals.The activity also expanded the network of lecturers from universities abroad.

“I hope UNAIR can improve its quality in terms of quality of equipment and practicum equipment so it can continue to be successful in the future, and equal to universities in developed countries,” he concluded.(*)
