UNAIR Promotes SNMPTN-SBMPTN in Tuban

UNAIR NEWS 51动漫 in collaboration with Education Agency of Tuban has been successfully promoted National State University Admission Selection (SNMPTN) and State University Joint Admission Selection (SBMPTN) in Tuban Regency. It was held in SMKN Negeri 1 Hall Tuban, East Java, Thursday, January 26.

The speakers were Drs. Edi Sukarno, Head of Education Agency of Tuban, East Java. There were also 80 teachers of SMA/SMK/MAN, seven of them were headmasters and a supervisor. The teachers attending were mostly counseling teachers.

The representative of Student Admission Center (PPMB) UNAIR was Dr. Moh Anam Al-Arif, MP., Drh., Ikhsan Rosyid, SS., and Bambang Edy Santosa, SE from Information and Public Relations Center (PIH).

In his address, Drs. Edi Sukarno said that events like that one was important and really expected by the teachers and schools managements as they can provide accurate information regarding university students admission. They often still have questions and mistaken some information if they only rely on official website. With the gathering, there was discussion, ask and answer session and they get accurate information.

漌ith this accurate information, we hope that the number of students from Tuban admitted in university increases, said Edi Sukarno.

In the occasion, Dr. Moh Anam Al-Arif and Ikhsan Rosyid explained thoroughly about the lastest regulations of SNMPTN and SBMPTN in 2017 such as PDSS data entry by schools and its finalization, decreased quota of SNMPTN admission which is at least 30 pecent, SBMPTN at least 30 percent and Independent Admission maximum 10 percent while last year the quota of SNMPTN was 40 percent.

In the ask and answer session, there was a question on the report effects to students ranking, data finalization by schools, especially about linearity of program they take, UNAS scores effect to SBMPTN, school index and track record of school alumni in a university and also the achievements to be included in the application for plus points.

There were interesting discussions on Bidikmisi program requirements and application methods and also about single tuition fee (UKT). Some of the teachers hoped that the tuition fee will not be raised and even expected it to be reduced. They said that students from rural areas consider their study continuation based on tuition fees.

淭here was our student admitted in a university outside Java through Bidikmisi. He was through SBMPTN, but after the verification he failed to get into Bidikmisi. Finally, the student canceled his plan to study further as he couldn檛 pay UKT at 5 million/semester, said a teacher. (*)
