UNAIR student team pass 2021 PKMV funding for their modern herbal drink

UNAIR NEWS Faculty of VocationalStudies has made another proudest achievement for in the national arena.This time, the Dignity Jamu team successfully passed the 2021 Vocational Student Entrepreneurship Program (PKMV) funding organized by the Directorate General of Vocational Education.They are Andrew Willem Palar, Julie Sintia Nabila, Frisca Taffana, and Annisa Mayzealuna.

PKMV is one of the entrepreneurship competitions organized by the Director-General of Vocational Education for vocational students. Dignity Jamu (Herbal Drink Increasing Immunity) team leader, Juan Andrew Willem Palar, explained the herbal drink innovation they made.The student of Hospitality Management three-year vocational program (D3) explained that the team檚 biggest motivation was to become a young entrepreneur.

The Dignity Jamu team innovates on herbal drinks considering that they are less attractive to the public than contemporary drinks such as boba or coffee.The packaging Dignity Team offers is very modern and contemporary, so that it attractscustomersto buy.

The three of them produce homemadeherbal drinkswithout preservatives.They also provide aninfo cardabout the benefits and ingredients for making the herbal drink.

Dignity Jamu offers three flavors, beras kencur, kunyit asem, and sinom. Beras kencur can improve stamina, help the body to be ideal and reduce bad cholesterol, while kunyit asem helps regulate blood sugar, prevent the risk of cancer, and increase endurance.

Juan also said that Dignity Jamu is a trusted herbal concoction with many benefits and is guaranteed to be natural. The Dignity team mixed the herbs with herbal drink sellers in Kediri and collaborated with practitioners from Kedai Mas Ang who had obtained the permit.

For the production, Juan and his team provide premium packaging or bottles that can berefilledto reduce plastic waste in the environment.淭his innovation we developed is expected to attract customers to live healthily and also with premium packaging can save the surrounding environment in reducing plastic waste, he explained.
