UNAIR Student Wins ASEAN +3 UNet Logo Design Competition

UNAIR NEWS– One of the rewarding experiences for students is when they are able to make achievements, not only academic achievements, but also non-academic ones. It is even more special when the achievement is of international level.

Adi Wisnu Nugroho is experiencing it. He is a student of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) who has won a logo design competition by ASEAN +3 University Network (ASEAN +3 UNet).

Adi, the Management class of 2014 student, was quite surprised with the announcement on Wednesday, January 10.The competition has been long enough and he almost forgot that he had followed the international level competition.

“At first, I didn檛thinkIwon as from the submission period to the announcement was quite long, June 2017-January 2018. It was almost forgotten.Then, suddenly I got the information and I won, “said Adi.

 

Adi檚 logo design which won the ASEAN +3 Unet logo design competition.

Adi said that at first, he followed the contest titledThe ASEAN + 3 UNet Logo Design Competitionout of curiosity.Adi admitted that he knew the competition from UNAIR檚 LINE account.With the help of some friends for ideas, finally Adi sent ten logos to be included in the race.Of the ten logo designs, there was one he thought the best of all.

“At first I just want tosendone logo.Apparently, the committee gave opportunity to participants to send as many as we can.I sent ten designs to increase the chances of winning, “said Adi.

Adi did not get any grand inspiration for the design that he sent.Prior to the designing process, he did some research on trending logoswidely used by educational institutions.He then combined the colors from the flags of the three countries incorporated in ASEAN +3 Unet, China, Japan, and Korea.

“I took the colors out of each country flag, yellow for China, blue for Korea, and red for Japan,” said Adi.

Adi admitted, previously he had never followed anysimilarevents.However, he does havedesigningskillsthat he only uses in the participation of organizational committees or activities on campus.

For his achievement, Adi earned a prize of cash worth 800 US Dollars or equivalent to Rp. 10,810,810.8 and a certificate of recognition from ASEAN +3 Unet.(*)
