UNAIR NEWSÌý– Commemoration ofÌýWorld Water Day isÌýon March 22.ÌýIt is commemorated so that all citizens of the world realize the importance of clean water in their lives.ÌýThe initiation of the commemoration was announced for the first time atÌý47thÌýÌý´Ç²ÔÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýinÌýÌý,ÌýÌý.ÌýThe results of the UN meeting then agreed that World Water Day began to be commemorated in 1994.
The commemoration of World Water Day raises a special theme each year.ÌýThis time the theme isÌýWater for All, Leaving No One Behind.ÌýReported by Ìý, the meaning ofÌýleaving no one behindÌýis to invite anyone not to leave the others who still lack clean water.ÌýWHO says 2 billion people around the world still consume contaminated water.
The lack of clean water causes residents to depend their lives on water that is not suitable for consumption.ÌýHundreds of thousands of people have died due to the use of polluted water.ÌýEvery day they have to struggle to defend their lives furiously.ÌýNot always smooth, sometimes they get discriminated when they want to access the water they need.ÌýTherefore, the people affected by the crisis deserve to fight for their rights.
The theme ofÌýWorld Water DayÌýin 2019 invites all levels of society, citizens of the world to care for each other, mainly people who experience a clean water crisis.ÌýNot only the government, other communities are also urged to participate in creating access to clean water for residents throughout the world.
