UNAIR NEWS Regional Arts Week (Peksimida) is commencing. There are many categories of competition. On Tuesday, May 17, in Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) and Universitas Brawijaya (UB), dozens of UNAIR students competed with others from all East Java universities to be winners. The winner of each category, will represent East Java in National Arts Week Peksiminas) 2016 which will be held in Kendari, South East Sulawesi, in mid-September.
There are dozens of artistic performances competition in this Peksimida. Last week, competition of Keroncong held in UMM, while short stories, plays and poems writing was held in UB. Chendra Mitra Affandi Indonesian Literature student of Faculty of Humanities (FIB) won a first place in poem writing category. Besides Chendra, a team of Unit Kegiatan Tari dan Karawitan (UKTK) was the third place in dancing category, and Elly Raheliyawati was the fourth place for short story writing.
淚n last poem competition, four hours was given with environmental theme. The theme was given at the day of the competition, said Cema.
Peksiminas is a program from General Directorate of Higher Education, Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture held once every two years. Airlangga Got Talent held by UNAIR Directorate of Student Affairs was a competition among UNAIR students before the selection of Peksimida. Chendra or known as Cema, became the representative of UNAIR and also East Java in poem writing category in the next Peksiminas.
淲hat I prepare for Peksiminas is training my sensitiveness, reading more and writing every day, said Cema.
淥ther categories of competition for next Peksimida are comic strips, poem reading, vocal group, and opera singing, said M. Aminuddin Ghufron Ali Musmar as the Head of UNAIR Communication Forum 2016. (*)
