UNAIR NEWS – General Director of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) Kemenristekdikti, Prof.Intan Ahmad, Ph.D., officially opened the 15th National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) in 2017, at GOR of Hasanuddin University (Unhas) in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Saturday, October 14.In the event held every other year between Indonesian students, POMNAS 2017 is followed by 2,727 athletes from 14 sports and two exhibition sports.They are from 34 provinces in Indonesia.
Attending at the main stands in this opening, there was the Governor of South Sulawesi, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, also representatives of National KONI, Representatives of National BAPOMI (Student Sports Supervisory Board of Indonesia).In addition, Director of Student Affairs of 51动漫, Dr.M. Hadi Shubhan, SH., MH., CN., as the Daily Chief of BAPOMI East Java.
Hadi Shubhan was there on behalf of Chairman of East Java BAPOMI Prof.Djoko Santoso, dr., Ph.D., Sp.PD., KGH., FINASIM.Daily Chief of BAPOMI East Java was also accompanied by Chairman of East Java POMNAS Contingent.Edy Mintarto, M.Kes., And Director of the East Java contingent.Prof. Dr.Hari Setiyono, M.Pd., and Drs.Hany Natawidjana.
In the parade, East Java POMNAS contingent received a festive reception besides the contingent host.Not only because of the contingent size, but it was also the only one carrying the red and white flag and waving in front of the honorary stands.
“Greetings and success for East Java,” shouted the Governor of South Sulawesi, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, from the stands of honor accompanied by Prof.Intan Ahmad, and Unhas Rector Prof.Dr.Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA., and other officials.
In remarks before opening POMNAS XV-2017, Prof.Intan Ahmad said that POMNAS always improves its quality.This is a good sign as last SEA Games in Singapore, a lot of Indonesia students made the highest achievement.One of them wasUNAIR student Diananda Chairunnisa who won two gold medals in Archery.
“As in developed countries, athletes are produced by the college with a development emphasizing on the base of science and technology,” said Prof.Intan Ahmad.
He also reminded that in a sports competition such as POMNAS, it is not only to compete sporting achievements, but also a method of character building.For example to increase morale, competitive souls who should not give up before the game, and victory with fairness.
“One thing important in the forum such as POMNAS is to strengthen the brotherhood to build social cohesion, solidarity and solidity of fellow youth for the progress of the nation and the integrity of Indonesian Republic.It means how important we put awareness in the life of nation and state, “said Prof.Intan Ahmad.
While South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo said, all guests athletes who come to the city of Makassar is considered as a young men who returned home. Governor invited the athletes to enjoy their stay and comfort in Makassar as in their own home.
“Welcome home, have a great competition and always maintain sportsmanship.It is the most important, because a Bugis proverb said ‘any victory achieved by cheating is nothing,’ said the Governor of South Sulawesi.
He was proud as in 2017, the province has hosted three national events, the commemoration of National Technology Day (Harteknas), National Student Science Week (PIMNAS), and now POMNAS.(*)
