It is the principle of Arrifah Ratna Dewi, drh., M.Vet., who was named the best master檚 degree graduate of Veterinary Agribusiness Program, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) 51动漫.听He graduated with a perfect GPA, 4.00.
His thesis research on “The Influence of Probiotics Addition as a Substitute ofAntibiotic Growth Promoter(AGP) to Feed Consumption, Egg Production, and Business Analysis of Quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica).听“Through business analysis, we know whether the provision of probiotics in the quail is more profitable or not.听The result, probiotics are expected to improve feed efficiency, egg production, and reduce production costs, “he said.
According to the woman born in Bojonegoro, April 6, 1994, her research was inspired by the use of antibiotics as an animal feed additive.听The use of excessive antibiotics gives adverse effects, resulting in resistance to pathogenic microorganisms.听It is the role of probiotics to balance microbes in the digestive tract of poultry.
“It was quite an experience, I was pleased for the opportunity to join this research.听However, I had been down several times because of the fatigue as I must go to the cage, every morning, afternoon, and must go to college.听Even on Saturday-Sunday, I had to stay all day cleaning the cage and recording the observed variables, ” he explained.
The woman who is keen on sewing also made various achievements such as being the 1st Winner of Gajah Mada Social Entrepreneurship National Challenge 2015, 2nd Winner of FKH UNAIR 2015 Outstanding Student, 3rd Winner of FKH UNAIR 2013 Outstanding Student, and being apaper presenter inInternational Conference on Veterinary Science Thailand 2015.
Arrifah was aspired to solve the problems of breeders, especially related to the feed.听Based on the findings in the field, feed costs reach 70% of total production costs.听So when it can be suppressed, profits can be increased.听The development of alternative feeds and additives such as probiotics is expected to solve the problem.听(*)
