UNAIR NEWS – Rizki Ezy Febriana’s interest in studying Haruki Murakami’s work for her thesis research material was because of its unique structures.The novel was titled1Q84.She then drafted a thesis entitled ”The Structure and Meaning of Murakami Haruki’s 1Q84″.Ezy was named the best bachelor檚 degree graduate of Faculty of Humanities (FIB) with 3.85 GPA.
“I’m not a fan of Murakami Haruki.I was only interested because he is a phenomenal writer in literary world.Because even though the world recognizes him as a great writer, Japanese society doubts him as a writer, “said Ezy.
During her study, Ezy was active in student association (HIMA) of Japanese Literature and and BEM FIB.She was also a volunteer on Yayasan Peduli Kasih Children with Special Need Loving Care Foundation for a year since 2014.
“I helped during training and therapy for the children.I focused more on helping them to speak and train their concentration, “said the woman born in Surabaya, February 11, 1995. She became a volunteer initially was to fight her fear, because she was always afraid to start new things.
“In addition to fight fear, I love children and I wanted to contribute.So I thought volunteering was a good thing, “Ezy said.There she learnt to let go of any fear, set her intention straight in her study.
“Do not be afraid.Fight all fear;fear of not passing, of getting bad marks, being scolded by lecturer;let go all of them, then we can focus on what we want, not on what we fear, “said Ezy who plans to learn more foreign languages 媼through courses.(*)
