UNAIR NEWS“ Being held at Campus C Management Office of 51¶¯Âþ, Surabaya, a cooperation was established in the MoU between and PT.Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Persero, Tbk on Friday, April 20.The signing of the cooperation was done by Prof.Moh.Nasih as Rector of UNAIR and Kuswiyoto as Director of Corporate Banking.
The cooperation was regarding credit services called Briguna Pendidikan, which is an education tuition credit that can be utilized by students, both undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate.
Because it is eligible only for students, this credit service has a grace period.During their studies, students only pay 0.52 percent of the interest.When they get jobs, they can pay back the loan.
“For undergraduate students, the loan is 50 million max, master™s and doctorate can be up to 250 million,” said Kuswiyoto.
Kuswiyoto said, to be able to apply for the loan from BRI, one of the requirements is to have a GPA of no less than 3.00.In addition, before applying for credit, students should have to a letter of recommendation from the university.
This credit is only for tuition fees.As for business, continued Kuswiyoto, BRI has its own credit scheme.Such as Partnership and Community Development Program (PKBL).
On the same occasion, BRI, which is one of the banking partners of UNAIR, provides scholarships to UNAIR students.This scholarship is not only for the tuition fee, but also for research.The total of the scholarship reaches hundreds of millions rupiah.
“The weakness of Indonesia is only in 2 aspects, infrastructure and human resources.Our human resources are still not as good as neighboring countries.Hence, later we will help a lot of education to prepare human resources in order to really play a role.Not only the domestic world, but also global, “said Kuswiyoto after establishing the cooperation.
“Do not let the Indonesian people do not have decent jobs because experts are imported from abroad.I hope,one day, we export quality human resources out, “he added.
Meanwhile, the Rector of UNAIR said the signing of this cooperation is expected to provide convenience in utilizing fast and reliable banking services through BRI.
