UNAIR NEWS“ 51¶¯Âþ () is participating in a science products showcase at Indonesia Science Day (ISD) 2018 held at PP-IPTEK Building (Showcase Center of Science & Technology), TMII Complex (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah), Jakarta , on 20-22 April 2018. The event was attended by 15 universities and 26 institutions, both private and public.
From UNAIR, the excellent products of science showcased are the result of research and innovation of the lecturers and students who have passed the test and feasibility test.The products displayed are the Dentolaser Tool;Stem Cell;and Fire Brigade Robot, innovation of UNAIR Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) students.
Meanwhile, for medical innovation product, there is Medi Tea (research result from Prof. Dr. H., Djoko Agus Purwanto, Apt., M.Si.);Anti-Keloid Cream (Prof. Dr. David Sontani, dr., Sp.BP-RE (K); Nonikit, Anti-Mercury Testing Device, (PIMNAS Student), Fordontis Environment-Friendly Mouthwash (Erni Maduratna FKG UNAIR); BIO KSB (wastewater treatment product).
On the first day of ISD 2018 opening, visitors of UNAIR exhibition booth were quite crowded.They were very enthusiastic to see the products displayed.Various questions were asked, especially around the manufacture, function, and how the product works.
On the other hand, Amien Nugroho Widhi Pratama as the UNAIR representative staff in the event revealed that the purpose of UNAIR’s participation in ISD 2018 is to introduce excellent products to the public.“Although we are not a pure university of science, we (UNAIR, ed) have many innovative research and science-leading products that can compete with others,” he explained.
Meanwhile, ISD 2018 was opened directly by the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Prof.Drs.H. Muhammad Nasir, M.Si, Akt, Ph.D.In his speech, he stated that through ISD 2018, the younger generation or the general public can understand closely the science, research, and technology, especially as an effort to prepare for industrial revolution 4.0.
“Through ISD in PP-IPTEK, we can introduce them and also thisScience Park, can be a way to learn science.So the younger generation’s competence will be better, “Prof.Nasir added.(*)
